She's Here!!

My little lady is finally here!!!
I am so in love with her!

Ella Rose was born 6.8.11 at 1:21 pm. Little bean weighed 6 pounds 4 ounces and 19 inches long.

My birth story was a scary one..
If you've read my previous posts, you know I had very high blood pressure..
On Tuesday, June 7th, I went to my regular doctors appointment..
My blood pressure was extremely high and there was a trace of protein in my urine.
My doctor checked me then, I was 1.5 centimeters dilated and 30% effaced.
We have talked about induction before, so I knew it was coming..
He sent me to the hospital for monitoring.
My blood pressure stayed high the whole time I was there, and more protein was found in my urine.
My doctor came to see me at the hospital and said, we should not wait. Induction tomorrow morning at 8 am!
I was admitted and was not allowed to go home. We decided we'll start with a cervix ripen-er, then start with Pitocin.
I called my husband right away and explained everything to him. He came bringing whatever he though I needed. Make up, straightener, blow dryer, tooth brush, and underwear! All that was thrown into a grocery bag. Oh men...
I barely slept that night, my doctor came a little early, around 7 and placed the tablet in place.. Said he will come back on his lunch break to break my water and start the Pitocin.
I started having contractions immediately! The worst part is that I couldnt move for 2 hours until the tablet dissolved..
The nurses suggested I get the Epidural right before Dr. C came to break my water, cause thats when it will get "ugly". So around 11:30 I got my Epidural.
My doctor came at 12:15, checked me. I was 3 centimeters dilated! He said we didn't even need the Pitocin!
As soon as he broke my water the trouble started...
Ella's heart rate dropped right away and kept dropping with each contraction.
I was given an oxygen mask, it didnt help much..
As my fluids were gushing out of me, I was hooked up to a monitor that pumped amniotic fluid back into me..
I was in tears at this point, kept telling the nurse "I cant listen to this.. I cant do it."
She even turned down the monitor but with the worried look on their faces, I didnt calm down one bit..
The doctor kept checking to see if the cord was getting clamped somewhere.. it wasnt.
As Dr. C went to check to see if maybe the cord was around Ella's neck, I gushed out a lot of blood, and out came a big clot.
Thats bad news.. My doctor looked up and said "the placenta might be splitting from the uterus"..
C section.. I knew it even before he said it.
The nurse called for the room (someone was about to go in for a scheduled C section) and said "this is URGENT".
I was wheeled in the surgery room. everything was such a blur..
I asked my husband to talk to me about something, ANYTHING but about whats going on.. He didnt even have a chance to start when we heard a cry!
It was such an amazing moment. I started crying even more!
The doctor held her up for us to see, she was so adorable! Not even purple or red like I expected. :)
My husband went with the doctor while they measured and weighed her, he got to cut the cord (whatever was left of it).
Then he brought her to me and placed her on my chest. :) We talked with her the whole time I was being sewed up. (40 minutes)

I cannot believe the path I had to go through to get to where I am now..
I had so many problems with my pregnancy and I cant believe I was cut..
But it is SO worth it. This little girl is amazing!

Ella turned one week yesterday. :) She's eating like a champ! Sleeps for 4+ hours.
Im a lucky momma. :)

Sorry for the long (and maybe TMI) birth story. :) A lot of ladies have been asking me, so I thought I'd get down to details. :)

Until next time!
